Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma during the programme at Gohpur in Bishwanath district
has claimed that only few Muslim MLAs will remain in Congress by the time of 2026 assembly polls.
Assam CM has stated that, MLAs such as Rakibul Hussain, Rekibuddin Ahmed, Jakir Hussain Sikdar, Nurul Huda and a few more will remain in the part.
Later, the Assam CM was also asked about Congress leader Rana Goswami resignation from the party, if the leader is planning to join the party BJP. He said, no information regarding the matter, a politician has to consider many aspects before taking a decision. Further, he also added that if he joins the party, he will be welcomed.
