In a decisive move against insurgent activities, Assam Rifles executed a targeted operation resulting in the apprehension of a cadre affiliated with NSCN(Niki Sumi) in Project Colony, Zunheboto district, Nagaland. Acting on precise intelligence, the joint operation conducted on April 6, 2024, successfully intercepted the individual engaged in extortion activities within the area.
The apprehended cadre was found in possession of a country-made .32mm pistol, along with other warlike paraphernalia. Assam Rifles promptly handed over the detainee, along with the confiscated items, to the local police authorities in Zunheboto.
