Chief Minister Shinde decided to rename MSSD University to give salute to Late Ratan Tata

The state government of Eknath Shinde has decided to change the name of the Maharashtra State Skills Development University to Ratan Tata Maharashtra State Skills Development University. Ratan Tata died on October 9 at the age of 86 of Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. The Shinde administration passed a resolution proposing the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian accolade, for the late Tata Group Chairman Emeritus. During a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Shinde, Tata was honoured. CM Shinde stated that Tata should receive the Bharat Ratna in honor of his role in defining India’s growth story. According to the Chief Minister’s office, a motion of condolence was also adopted at the Cabinet meeting.

The resolution proposing the Bharat Ratna for the late industrialist emphasized Tata’s commitment to India and his contributions to society. The resolution expressly referred to Tata’s leadership in times of crisis. Maharashtra Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said on Friday that the Nature Interpretation Centre at Moharli in TATR will be named after the great businessman. The minister stated that a cancer facility established by Tata Trusts is operating in Chandrapur. The Tata Trusts gave Rs 100 crore to this project. Tata also paid Rs 3 crore to the architect for the Bamboo Research and Training Centre. He adopted 90 communities to help the agriculture sector. The NIC will be named after Ratan Tata.
