CM Inspects Old KMC Dumping Site

State Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Minister Salhoutuonuo Kruse, visited the Old Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site on Monday to inspect the landslide-affected area along National Highway-29 in Kohima.

According to a DIPR report, the inspection focused on assessing the extent of the landslide damage and discussing immediate as well as long-term solutions to ensure safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.

During the visit, the Chief Minister engaged with various stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan to address the issue effectively. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all relevant departments and community members.

Present at the site were officials including Kohima Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Public Works Department representatives for the National Highway, local landowners, village leaders from Jotsoma, and other district authorities.

Authorities have begun implementing necessary measures to stabilize the landslide-affected zone and reduce further disruptions on NH-29, prioritizing public safety and uninterrupted transportation.
