Er. Y. Lipongse Thongtsar opened the Handloom Exhibition in Dimapur

Er. Y Lipongse Thongtsar, Managing Director of Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd. and Additional Director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, officially opened the Handloom Exhibition at Dimapur. The exhibition, which is supported by the Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi’s office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), will run through March 19, 2025. Sixty participants from Assam and the several districts of Nagaland are showcasing a range of handloom, khadi, and handicraft-made items.

The primary goal of the show, according to project manager NHHDC Ltd, was to create and promote marketing channels in both domestic and international markets and establish connections between them in a comprehensive and integrated way. On March 7, Padma Shri Awardee Neihunuo Sorhie opened a ten-day handicraft and handloom exhibition at State Academy Hall, PR Hill, Kohima, which would run from March 7 to 16. The show was sponsored by the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, and organized by NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt. Ltd., Dimapur.

Temjenlemla Jamir, director of NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt. Ltd., stated that the show was doing well and drawing more people each day, with more visitors anticipated in the days ahead. According to her, the exhibition served as a venue for Producer Company craftspeople to showcase their goods. There are 20 artists taking part in the show.
