Frontier Nagaland Issue: ENPO in Multiple Rounds of Talks with MHA

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) conducted a series of high-level meetings with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi from December 18 to 21, focusing on the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT). The engagements began with a bilateral meeting on December 18, attended by MHA representatives including A.K. Mishra, the MHA Advisor for the North East, along with A.K. Dhyani, Rajesh Kamble, and Niraj Kumar Bansod.

The next day, on December 19, a tripartite High-Level Committee meeting took place at Kartavya Bhavan-3, involving the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland, and the ENPO. This session was chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, with the Nagaland government delegation led by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.

On December 21, the ENPO delegation, including Rajya Sabha MP S. Phangnon Konyak, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence. During this meeting, the delegation conveyed their Christmas greetings to the Home Minister and expressed gratitude for his dedication in addressing the FNT issue.

Overall, these meetings signify ongoing dialogue and engagement between ENPO and the Central government regarding the affairs of Eastern Nagaland and the proposed territorial arrangement.
