Actor John Abraham talked about starting his career as a filmmaker when he felt dissatisfied with the films he was doing as an actor. He said that he had no work for many years because the industry had rejected him. But things changed when he took matters into his own hands and proved to the industry that he was more than just a chiseled action hero.In 2023, John played the villain in ‘Pathan’, which proved to be his biggest box office hit to date.
In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, John was asked why he decided to become a producer, to which he said, “Because I was not happy with the films I was doing and the films I was watching. I wanted to change things… Everyone has an X and a Y axis in their life. A Z axis came into my life. Suddenly, people started seeing me as more than just a heavyset guy. They started believing that I also had a brain. They realized that I could make different types of films like Vicky Donor, Parmanu, Batla House… The first turning point in my life was Jism, after that Dhoom and after that when I became a producer”.
When asked if he was happy during this change, John said, “Yes, I am always happy. I am never insecure. Before Nuclear, when I didn’t work for four years, a lot of new people came into the industry.
John will be next seen in the horror comedy Stree 2 and the Akshay Kumar starrer Khel Khel Mein, along with the action-drama Veda, releasing on Independence Day.
