The Kiphire District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) organized a special health camp for disabled persons at the District Hospital, Kiphire, as part of the SAATHI campaign, aiming to improve access to legal and healthcare services for vulnerable populations. with order to ensure inclusive outreach, Para Legal Volunteers and guardians actively assisted with their transportation and participation. Under the direction of Holika Sukhalu, secretary DLSA Kiphire, the health camp provided comprehensive medical screening for 15 senior persons and 42 children ages 2 to 18. The issuance of Disability Certificates for all identified persons has begun and is already under progress, officials stated.
In an effort to increase access to government welfare programs and services designed specifically for people with disabilities, the DLSA has also started assisting these kids in applying for their Unique Disability ID (UDID) Cards through the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. Kiphire DLSA and the District Hospital reaffirm their common commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of those with disabilities in the district by concentrating their efforts on accessibility and inclusion.
