Kohima Chamber of Commerce joins Dimapur’s protest

The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has announced a one-day shutter-down on April 26, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, in a show of solidarity with the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in Nagaland. KCCI President Kezhazer Angami and General Secretary Henry Chisüte lauded DCCI for its courageous stand in articulating the grievances of the business community through an indefinite shutter-down in Dimapur, Nagaland.

DCCI’s decision to initiate an indefinite shutter-down from April 26, protesting against alleged harassment by Naga political groups, has garnered staunch support from KCCI. The challenges outlined by DCCI resonate as common concerns faced by the wider business and trading community, prompting KCCI’s unified display of support.

KCCI has urged its members, civil societies, and the public at large to extend their solidarity and cooperation to this cause. It’s noteworthy that essential services such as pharmacies, hotels, and bakeries will be exempted from the protest to ensure minimal disruption to vital services.
