Medanta to bring world-class healthcare closer to home with 400-bed hospital in Guwahati

In a major boost for consumers seeking advanced medical services in the Northeast, Global Health Limited (Medanta) has announced the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for its upcoming 400-bed super-specialty hospital at Sarusajai Industrial Estate, Guwahati, on October 31, 2025. The event will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta, Mr. Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, and other senior dignitaries.

The Guwahati hospital will offer consumers access to world-class tertiary and quaternary care, including robotic surgeries, transplant programs, and advanced diagnostic services in radiology, nuclear medicine, and preventive health. Dr. Trehan said, “Medanta’s expansion into the Northeast will bridge the healthcare gap and make quality medical care more accessible to the people of Assam and neighbouring states.”

Consumers are optimistic that this project will reduce dependency on metro cities for complex treatments. Dibrugarh, known for its growing healthcare demand, will likely see improved patient referral systems, better medical connectivity, and more affordable access to specialised care through Guwahati.
