In a notable stride towards global recognition, a nine-member delegation from Nagaland showcased the state’s specialty coffee at COFFEX ISTANBUL EXPO 2025, held from May 9 to 11 in Istanbul. The participation marks a significant milestone for Nagaland’s emerging coffee industry on the international stage. Led by G. Ikuto Zhimomi, Advisor of Nagaland’s Land Resources Department, the delegation included former Commissioner & Secretary Kevekha Kevin Zehol, Additional Director Hekato N, and five leading entrepreneurs from prominent local coffee brands such as Nagaland Coffee, Été Coffee, Juro Coffee, YES Coffee, and Coffee Lady.
The trip was facilitated by the Consulate General of India in Istanbul, Mijito Vinito Chishi, who collaborated closely with the Coffee Board of India and Turkish officials to ensure Nagaland’s impactful presence at the expo. This initiative aligns with the Land Resources Department’s vision to promote Nagaland’s distinctive coffee products worldwide.
COFFEX ISTANBUL is a premier international coffee trade fair that attracts growers, roasters, and industry experts from across the Middle East and beyond. The three-day event offered the Nagaland team valuable exposure to global coffee trends, cultivation methods, processing technologies, flavor profiling, and sustainability innovations.
