Nagaland partners with QCI to strengthen quality standards across key sectors

In a significant move to enhance quality-driven growth across various sectors, the Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the Quality Council of India (QCI), hosted the Gunvatta Sankalp Nagaland at Hotel Vivor, Kohima, on February 27. The event brought together senior government officials, industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss strategies for embedding quality into governance, industries, and services.The initiative focuses on key sectors such as healthcare, education and skilling, industry and MSMEs, and tourism, aligning with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.Addressing the gathering, Minister Temjen Imna Along emphasized the importance of quality in Nagaland’s progress, stating, “The people of Nagaland can serve as a beacon of quality for the nation. The pursuit of excellence is at the heart of our development journey.” He highlighted that Nagaland’s aspirations and commitment to high standards make its people true brand ambassadors of quality. Chief Secretary Dr. J. Alam (IAS) praised QCI’s roadmap, stressing the need for accreditation and improved testing facilities, particularly for Nagaland’s mining sector. He reiterated the state’s focus on strengthening universal healthcare and ensuring high standards in various industries.

QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah underscored Nagaland’s commitment to sustainability, entrepreneurship, and excellence, stating, “Viksit Bharat is not possible without a Viksit Nagaland.” He expressed confidence that the discussions at Gunvatta Sankalp would help unlock new pathways for quality-driven growth. Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister, Kesonyu Yhome, highlighted the crucial role of infrastructure, particularly roads and connectivity, in Nagaland’s development. He acknowledged the challenges in the rural road sector and urged QCI to assist in ensuring high-quality construction and infrastructure improvements. Meanwhile, QCI Secretary General Chakravarty Kannan emphasized the transformative power of quality in governance and services. He stated, “QCI will work closely with Nagaland to build a robust quality ecosystem that fosters excellence in healthcare, MSMEs, education, and tourism.”

The Gunvatta Sankalp Nagaland initiative marks a pivotal step in enhancing the state’s quality standards across multiple sectors. The event facilitated discussions, shared insights, and reinforced commitments from both government and industry leaders to embed a culture of quality in Nagaland’s growth strategy.
