Nagaland Police arrest Delhi resident over derogatory social media post

Nagaland Police have arrested an individual in Delhi for posting derogatory content on social media, targeting former Chief Minister Dr. S.C. Jamir and Ao women. The objectionable remarks were shared on the Facebook page “The Patriotic Nagas.”

Acting swiftly after launching an investigation, the police traced the individual responsible for the post. The accused was arrested in Delhi on November 30 and subsequently brought to Nagaland, where they are now in judicial custody. The police are conducting further investigations, including forensic analysis and obtaining expert opinions, to build a robust case. Officials have assured the public that the matter will be taken to its logical conclusion under the law.

In a statement, Nagaland Police urged citizens to maintain peace and harmony, given the sensitive nature of the case. “We appeal to everyone to uphold law and order while respecting the dignity of all communities,” an official said.
