NPF expresses gratitude despite election setback

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Manipur State Unit has extended its heartfelt gratitude to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for their unwavering support during the recent Lok Sabha elections, despite the defeat of their candidate, Kachui Timothy Zimik, who contested from the II-outer Manipur constituency.In an official statement released, the NPF expressed profound appreciation for the steadfast backing received from their alliance partners and supporters. “The NPF Manipur State Unit could not have reached this point without the unwavering support of all our party members and well-wishers. We share the burden and pain of our alliance party members and supporters,” read the statement.

Despite Kachui Timothy Zimik’s defeat by Congress candidate Alfred Kanngam Arthur, the NPF extended gratitude to Manipur BJP legislators, BJP party members and workers, Nagaland legislators, BJP of Nagaland, and the NPP party and its legislators, alongside the central leaders of the NPF. Additionally, the party expressed deep appreciation to the UNC leaders and federating units, the Naga Women Union, ANSAM, and all pastors who offered prayers. They also thanked the voters of the II-outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency for their support, and commended Kachui Timothy Zimik and his family for their dedication. “Though we did not achieve success this time, let’s stand united and move forward,” added the statement.

Furthermore, the NPF congratulated Alfred Kanngam S. Arthur on his victory and expressed hope in his policies for the welfare of the community. The party reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the indigenous people, Naga cultural heritage, traditions, land, and political rights. “We will not compromise in any manner while safeguarding the indigenous people and the rich Naga cultural heritage, tradition, land, and political rights of our people for future generations,” concluded the statement.
