The Ministry of Information and Publicity of the Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim has issued a stern rebuke, alleging that Indian intelligence agencies are orchestrating a sophisticated social media propaganda campaign against the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN). The ministry asserts that Indian agencies are resorting to deceptive tactics aimed at sowing discord within the NSCN and inciting tribal conflicts.
The statement released by the ministry sheds light on a disturbing trend of provocative articles circulating on social media platforms, purportedly authored by fictitious Naga individuals. These articles, designed to exploit tribal sensitivities, are reportedly crafted to undermine the unity of the NSCN. Notably, one such article titled “MUIVAH IS A PROBLEM, NOT THE SOLUTION” was followed by a counter-article titled “RENDERING POLITICAL EDUCATION TO ZAVISITUO ANGAMI,” both allegedly penned under a fake Tangkhul name.
The NSCN condemns these articles as a malicious attempt to deepen tribal rifts between the Angamis and Tangkhuls by invoking the names of revered Naga leaders AZ Phizo and Th Muivah. Describing this strategy as a gross manipulation of Naga history and sentiment, the NSCN emphasizes the pivotal roles played by AZ Phizo and Th Muivah in the Naga political struggle. It credits Phizo with declaring Naga independence and Muivah with securing significant political recognition through the 2015 Framework Agreement with the Government of India.
