The first session of the two-day “SRF 5.0 Knowledge Exchange Workshop” (Nagaland Edition)” was held at the Banquet Hall, Hotel Vivor, Kohima, by the Department of Industry and Commerce, Kohima, in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministries of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. The States’ Startup Ranking, a capacity-building exercise that evaluates each Indian state and Union Territory’s efforts to create an environment that fosters the growth of startups, is created and published annually by DPIIT.
India ranks third globally in startups, thanks to collective efforts from various states and union territories. In Nagaland, the state government launched a program in 2013 to introduce entrepreneurship to young people. The “Who Will Rajiv Chandrasekhar Choose?” initiative has successfully captured young people’s attention. Despite Nagaland’s aspiring leadership status, advisor Hekani Jakhalu remains optimistic about the workshop organized by DPIIT to motivate stakeholders.
Hekani emphasized the value of experiential learning and knowledge sharing in building relationships and teamwork. She gave the course high marks for networking and group development. She expressed gratitude to DPIIT secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia for his support of the Nagaland effort. The Nagaland Startup Ecosystem’s progress was also highlighted at the occasion.
