With a variety of cultural performances, including songs and dances from several tribes, Naga Heritage Village in Kisama commemorated the third day of the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival on Tuesday. Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton chaired the morning session, which was co-sponsored by advisers Food & Civil Supply, Legal Metrology, and KT Sukhalu, as well as the chairman of the Nagaland Honey Mission, Obed Quinker. Tshering Thendup Bhutia, Sikkim’s tourism minister; SIMFED chairman Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia; Peruvian ambassador to India Javier Paulinich; Austrian Embassy Cultural Forum director Michael Pal; and Vienna Economic Forum project manager Irena Pal were among the honored guests.
During the occasion, a number of cultural troupes performed songs and dances from their traditions. The afternoon session’s major visitor was Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The event was co-sponsored by Konngam Konyak, the advisor for Treasuries & Accounts, Art, and Culture, and hosted by Salhoutuonuo Kruse, the Minister of Women Resource Development and Horticulture. Cultural troupes presented folk melodies and various traditional dances.
Hornbill Fest: Number of visitors dip on day-3: On the first day of the 25th Hornbill Festival, December 1, there were 23,910 attendees; today, there are 16087. On December 3, 16087 individuals attended the festival, including 11729 locals, 4041 domestic visitors, and 317 foreign visitors. 57,585 people have attended the festival so far, according to data from the tourism department.
