Toyota Kirloskar Motor establishes its 67th Technical Education Program in Mizoram

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram and Zote Toyota, has launched its 67th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the STAR Scholarship Initiative at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aizawl. This strategic move aligns with India’s broader economic policies such as “Skill India” and “Make in India,” focusing on upskilling youth and fostering sustainable economic growth through technical education.

The T-TEP initiative will equip students with valuable skills in Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Diesel Mechanic trades, ensuring they are prepared to meet the growing demands of the automotive industry. Alongside, the STAR Scholarship Program, which offers financial aid up to ₹51,000 annually, will support economically disadvantaged students pursuing technical education, thus addressing barriers to entry in the skilled workforce.

In Dimapur, a growing trade hub in Nagaland, the automotive sector is expanding due to rising demand for vehicles and services. TKM’s T-TEP program offers a timely solution to the region’s need for skilled professionals. As Dimapur’s automotive market flourishes, the program’s graduates will fill the increasing demand for trained technicians, thus driving economic development and creating job opportunities in the local economy.
