Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s bold commitment to eco-friendly practices on World Environment Health Day

On the occasion of World Environment Health Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) showcased its dedication to environmental sustainability, highlighting its transformation from a traditional car manufacturer to a forward-thinking mobility company. This commitment is part of the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 (TEC 2050), a global initiative aimed at achieving carbon neutrality and generating a net positive impact through a series of ambitious environmental goals.

TKM has made impressive strides in sustainable practices, including sourcing 89.3% of its production water from recycled and rainwater, and achieving over 96% waste recycling on its journey toward becoming a zero waste-to-landfill company. Since June 2021, the company has fully transitioned to renewable energy, resulting in substantial reductions in carbon emissions.

In Dimapur, consumers are increasingly aligning their choices with sustainability values, showing a strong preference for eco-friendly brands. This local trend reflects a growing environmental consciousness, as residents become more discerning about the ecological impact of their purchases. TKM’s proactive initiatives resonate with this shift, establishing the brand as a preferred choice for environmentally aware consumers. Mr. B. Padmanabha, Executive Vice President of TKM, emphasized that sustainability is embedded in all company operations, fostering a culture of eco-consciousness among stakeholders and paving the way for a greener future.
