“We are blending AI with ingenuity, in intuitive ways!”

Adobe is emphasizing that while AI is transforming creativity, successful adoption depends on balancing the four key stages: creation, ideation, production, and delivery. At this year’s MAX keynote, CEO Shantanu Narayen highlighted Adobe’s strategy of integrating its tools with the best AI models from other companies. “Creativity blends imagination, innovation, technology, and humanity. Our platforms and tools empower creators to explore their boldest ideas without switching apps,” Narayen said.

Adobe’s AI strategy rests on three pillars: its Firefly models, partner models from companies like OpenAI and Google, and custom models tailored for specific workflows. Currently, Adobe integrates 23 partner models across photo, video, and audio applications, available in apps like Firefly, Photoshop, and Express, offering users a unique menu of AI options. David Wadhwani, President of Adobe’s Digital Media Business, explained that different models excel at different tasks, such as generating video, adding effects, or optimizing images.

Firefly and partner models are also enabling “conversational experiences” in Adobe apps, simplifying multi-step editing tasks through AI. Adobe ensures authenticity through content credentials and is developing tools like Generate Soundtrack and custom Firefly models for focused workflows. Narayen stresses that while AI amplifies creativity, human emotion and originality remain irreplaceable in art.
